The 12th Diocesan Mt. Samat Pilgrimagewas held last November 28, 2015 atDambana ng Kagitingan Dambana ng Kagitingan (Mt. Samat) in Pilar, Bataan with a theme “THE HARVEST is GREAT”.
An incredible experience being part of 12th the Diocesan Mt. Samat Pilgrimage

The pilgrimage is an annual event of the Diocese since 2004 and has been attended by thousands of students and devotees.



The 12th Diocesan Mt. Samat Pilgrimage started at 10:00AM and ended around dinnertime. Thousands of students and delegates cheerfully trekked the 7-kilometer walk from the foot of the mountain to the World War II monument called, “Dambana ng Kagitingan” (Shrine of Valor). This year it was attended by more than 40,000 people from different walks of life – both from Bataan and outside Bataan, including international tourists as well.



The moment we arrived and exited our van, I immediately felt the presence of the Holy Spirit. Everyone was in high spirits and no way was anyone or anything going to dampen it. Happiness and positivity could easily be felt around the area.

Since we were invited by Bataan Tourism, we were able to go to the rooftop of the Colonnade to get a better view of the crowd at the 12th Diocesan Mt. Samat Pilgrimage.



We were even able to capture the magic hour.



The 12th Diocesan Mt. Samat Pilgrimage culminated with a spectacular display of fireworks from the Shrine Of Valor’s (Dambana Ng Kagitingan) foot.
